The Power of One

If you have been following my blog lately, you know how alarmed I am at the cultural trend against Christians in this nation and around the world. After reading Matt Barber’s column on Townhall.com this morning, I was even more dismayed. He was writing about the utter contempt for God and Christianity so many prominent people in the media express. It left me feeling frustrated and helpless.

aaron+and+melissa2I noticed a sidebar on the website talking about the Sweet Cakes bakery, one of those targeted by gay rights activists for refusing to bake a same sex wedding cake. The couple who own the bakery had to close their shop and are being fined more than $100,000 for their act of conscience. Included in the news update was this link to Samaritan’s Purse to donate to a fund to help these people and other persecuted Christians in the US. (http://www.samaritanspurse.org/article/christian-couple-faces-135000-fine/)

Finally! Something practical I can do to help those on the front lines of our current Spiritual battlefield. As I sent off my donation I felt a measure of peace and a lessening of my frustration level.

Most of us feel powerless in the face of so much evil in the world. What difference can one person make?  Look at history and you will see the names of individuals who made huge impacts, for good or ill, on a national or even worldwide scale. Today a single person can create a huge following through social media, but even if you aren’t into Facebook or Twitter, etc. you can make an impact on your immediate neighborhood, one person at a time.

Christ began His ministry with one disciple and changed the world through the chain reaction of personal relationships.  With His help, your life can make a difference, too.

  2. Just goes to prove how powerful and transforming Jesus really is that the darkness becomes increasingly more fearful that people will wake up to know the Way to our Father, and fights increasingly hard to keep people away from knowing the Truth and Life of God! Love wins! Love never fails! God bless you!
